The Benefits:
Let's face it - slides are fast becoming a thing of the past for sharing memories. Even photo albums are seldom shared these days.
Slide film is still used for those who enjoy superior quality. It has richer colors, depth, contrast and clarity. Trouble is if you want to actually do anything with the photos - you need to get the image off the slide!
We scan slides, negatives and prints (normal photos) upto A4 size (we recommend & specialize in scanning negatives & slides as they are MUCH clearer, hold more detail, are more accurate and you will get much better results).
We can make a DVD / CDrom slideshow that you can play in any DVD player or on your computer from your own images with your own soundtrack! Or we can supply the images in file format (ie JPEG, Tiff, Bmp etc).
The Process:
Each slide or negative is scanned using a high-end Nikon Coolscan 5000 Scanner. This state-of-the-art machine is used by imaging professionals that charge a lot more than we do! It can scan in very high resolution (upto 5000dpi 16 Bit for over 110MB images!) and removes dust ands scratches extremely well. The important thing is that you will get extremely high quality scans, with amazing color & very good scratch & dust mark removal.
The System:
You send us your slides / negatives or prints & pay - we send back the originals with a CD / DVD of the images - Easy!
The Choices:
You can choose what resolution you would like and what file type to have the files in. The standard choice is for the images to be saved on a CDROM in JPEG - you can specify if you would like different. You can also have the images put onto a DVD that will play in most DVD players for a little extra.
The DVD Options:
This can be a DVD for your TV or computer. It can be made to play when inserted or can have a menu (just like a normal DVD). You can choose background color, transition effect, motion effect, sound track, speed of play etc. You can speed up or slow down the DVD with your remote as well.
The Price:
Very reasonable! Depends on your choice for output quality - a one off setup fee then charges per slide or negative. A DVD slideshow is only $10 more for 1000dpi - so total cost of a 'normal' 100 slides on DVD would only be $70 total! See the table to the right...

If you would like express or insured mail that will be extra.
You will need to include all information with the slides - ie if you want a particular slide transition effect, output (TV / Computer), region (NTSC / PAL) and size (Normal / Widescreen). Without this information the DVD will have 3-4 seconds per photo with 3 second fade in / out transition & will be normal size for TV(PAL). If you would like a particular backing track music that must be included on CD. This can be emailed if you arrange it first & the file is not too large. Slides must be sent to us aligned (all facing the right way & upright) - they will be scanned & put into the DVD in the order sent. For best results clean your slides before sending by a recommended method. Once payment is received they will be scanned & returned with the DVD. Copyright & Legal adherence is your responsibility.
